Rare early 20th century Gwo Jianfu Chinese chinoiserie painting, watercolor on scroll paper, mounted on silk, showing a cluster of thorny vines and leaves / lotus, with a dragonfly perched on a flower blossom. Calligraphy at left. Red stamp / seal. Beveled wood frame.
The artist's name is 高剑父 Gao Jianfu 1879 - 1951
This is the poem that appeared on the painting: 祇愁庭下寒易落，秋为西风南浦。
(I only fear the cold will make the courtyard leaves fall soon, As autumn drifts with the west wind by the southern shore.)
