This exquisite pair of tall French cabinets (commodes à chaussures / semainiers) showcases exceptional craftsmanship in the Louis XV style, … Read more This exquisite pair of tall French cabinets (commodes à chaussures / semainiers) showcases exceptional craftsmanship in the Louis XV style, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1920–1935). Each piece features finely detailed floral marquetry inlay, intricate gilt-bronze ormolu mounts, and richly toned veneered panels that add depth and elegance. The two cabinets are slightly different the one on the right is a bit more faded in color than the one on the left. Some of the bronze trim on the left cabinet is also missing and differs a bit from the cabinet on the right. The cabinets are both topped with beautiful original marble slabs. Each of the marble tops are a bit different with some small scratches on the cabinet on the left. In terms of condition both cabinets have some scuffs and marks consistent with age. There are also some parts of the piece that have the wood peeling a bit such as the bottom legs and one piece of missing trim on one of the drawers.
