The design is exquisitely detailed in black with gold accents. Designed by artist Raymond Peynet for Rosenthal Germany Studio Linie. Measures 5 3/4" x 5 1/4" In excellent condition.

Raymond Peynet (1908–1999) was one of the most influential cartoonists, painters and illustrators in France. After studying at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris, he began drawing cartoons and designed catalogues and advertisements. He became famous all around the world thanks to his body of more than 6,000 poetic illustrations featuring a pair of lovers whom he had once observed during a visit to the French community of Valence.
