Antique Hygiene ware / Sanitaryware US Navy porcelain floor and ring-mounted fresh water pitcher marked USN in dark blue letters under the glaze. Pitcher is c. 1860-1900, and was used during the The Spanish American War and Great White Fleet era. The pitcher has a thick roll or lip around the midsection so as to allow it to fit in a circular steel holder, which would have been mounted to the wall to prevent the pitcher from tipping over during rough seas.
