Beautiful Japanese Dragonware tea set by Moriyama Mori-Machi, dating from the 1930s to 1940s. This 15-piece set includes:
1 Teapot (9-1/2" spout to handle x 8" high, holds 40 fl oz)
1 Large Creamer
1 Large Covered Sugar
6 Cups (6 fl oz, 2" high x 3-3/8" diameter)
6 Saucers (5-1/2" diameter)
Each piece is decorated with a raised relief dragon motif, hand-painted in soft pastels with brushed black shading and gilded details. The base glaze shows a pale rainbow of pastel tones, typical of early Dragonware designs.
Backstamp: Moriyama Mori-Machi, Japan
Era: 1930s–1940s
Condition: No chips, cracks, or excessive wear. Some gilding wear and factory blemishes such as light paint overspray or glaze spots, common in Dragonware of this period.
