This painting was inspired by my father's slides from the 1970s. He was in France and he snapped this moment of the priest entering the church. I was struck by the stark contrast of the black robes against the bright yellow doors. I originally thought I'd try it in oils, but I couldn't get the watercolor version out of my head.
This is an original watercolor created by Tawna Allred. It is painted on 300 lb. paper. No prints have been made so you are purchasing a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
