This early-mid 20th century pastel on paper seated woman is by California artist Forrest Hibbits (1905-1996). Hibbits graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts. He exhibited at SFMOMA, the de Young Museum, the Oakland Museum of Art, and the Legion of Honor. Hibbits worked as a commercial artist at Patterson & Sullivan, a San Francisco ad agency in the 1920s-1930s.
