Jacques Bartoli (French, 1920 - 1995) oil painting on canvas is titled "Femmes en Blue," which translates to "Women in Blue". The back of the canvas is written “Femmes En Bleu, J. Bartoli, Toulon (the French town where he studied), 5F".
Bartoli's work is characterized by an impressionistic style, where he uses color and form to integrate figures into the scene, rather than focusing on detailed faces. Striking red & cream matts with gold inner bevel. Carved and gesso, distressed finish frame. The frame with the matt is 3.25" wide. The painting itself is 10" wide x 13.25" high.
