Table mirror kneeling man Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien late 1920s marked In the 1920s the Hagenauer siblings Karl and Franz began to design and craft strongly reduced figurines in their Viennese workshop. Today, these sculptures count towards the beginning of the design of France and Italy of the 1950s and 1960s. Through the strong reduction of the physical attributions of man or woman the Hagenauer brothers created a new modernism that has never been achieved before. The kneeling man dates to the early 1920s. The physical attributes are displayed very reduced and dynamic. The nickel-plated finish lends this figurine a fine, precious appearance and the execution shows great craftsmanship.
