This is an original June 13, 1971 painted plastic sign from the wedding of President Richard Nixon’s daughter, Patricia, one of the few such events that has been held at the White House in Washington, DC. The sign was to advise the public that the wedding was not open to the public. I’ve had it professionally framed to help protect this historic item. Condition in mint. The Battle of Long Khanh occurred just the week before the wedding in 1971. And just think, almost exactly a year later, the break-in at Watergate occurred on June 17, 1972.
The sign was recovered from the estate of Worthington White who was a White House usher through a number of different presidencies.
Would be great for a wedding! Or just for fun! Awesome for a DC house or any politico!
Dimensions in frame: 13” x 23”
You can see the sign at the 3 second mark on YouTube video from AP Archive “Tricia Nixon married at White House”.
