Direct from southern England, a superb one-of-a-kind antique English console or side table. This antique table was restored and recently decoupaged with a stunning equestrian motif on all sides!

The rectangular top is adorned with gold depictions of horses in various poses, all on a black lacquer/painted background bordered by a wide, classical gilt Greek key motif.
On ALL four sides, the apron features a frieze of stylized horses, and the lower shelf showcases four panels with scenes of lively foxhunting and steeplechase in the style of Henry Alken or Ackermann’s sporting prints!

The table is set on English turned legs accented with gold gilt rings and accents to their baluster shape. The excellent attention to details by the artist provides this stunning two-tier table with decorative opulence and a beautiful equestrian aesthetic, resulting in a sophisticated, relevant addition to today’s home.
Original table circa late 19th century.
