Opening its doors in 1909, Hôtel de Crillon was once an 18th-century palace built by famed architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel. Located in the heart of Paris, overlooking the Place de la Concorde, the Hotel has been a favorite of royal families, celebrities, and heads of states. Famous guests have included Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, and Karl Lagerfeld. The Hotel was mentioned in two of Ernest Hemingway's novels: The Sun Also Rises and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.
