Fresh from an exquisite New York City collection, we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous PAIR of Antique … Read more Fresh from an exquisite New York City collection, we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous PAIR of Antique Meissen Porcelain Figural Vases / Urns. Superb quality examples, made in Germany in the second half of 19th century. Each vase / urn has two hand painted courting scenes, one on each side (four different scenes between the two). Vases are made of two pieces, held together with a threades rod / screw and a nut (please see photos of the bottom). Each urn has two cherubs / putti / babies on the sides, all four in different pose. Around the tops of the vase are flowers, and sides have vines of fruits, there are strawberries, grapes and lemons. Along all decorations we have a heavily gilt top rim, bottom and center bands, as well as the scrolled highlights throughout. Bottom of each urn is marked with a blue period Meissen crossed swords mark and additional impresses letters / numbers. Condition is good, showing light age / use wear (please see photos). Size is great to fit anywhere at 7.75" in height, 5" widest point, and they are 4.875" deep. This will be a great addition to any quality collection, traditional or mid-century modern setting!
