Table lamp by Ewart Uncles, a British studio potter who settled in France in the mid-20th century. Uncles trained in Britain during the post-war period and was part of the generation influenced by Bernard Leach and the Anglo–Japanese approach to ceramics. This piece, dating from the 1960s–70s, is a wheel-thrown stoneware lamp with a warm brown glaze showing the rhythmic traces of the potter’s wheel. Completed with a custom handwoven shade in Italian linen and silk by Maison Gazelles, Brussels. This piece has an attribution mark,
