Title: Court Reflection
Artist: Kristin Fairfield
Medium: Oil on Canvas
This painting is part of a series exploring the inner game of tennis—the thoughts, emotions, and quiet battles that unfold inside every player. The reflected shadow across the court speaks to that internal world: the fear, focus, doubt, and determination that live beneath the surface. I grew up playing tennis and have recently returned to the game. With maturity, the feelings are just as raw, but now I understand how universal they are. This piece captures a still moment between points, full of tension and potential. The lone tennis ball and the blurred shadow suggest both solitude and connection—what it means to face yourself on the court.
