On the Design:

Admirers of the craft may note an inspiration from saf prayer rugs in this piece’s rare, unique design—a multi-niche design with a series of prayer alcoves each framed by geometric borders, like those here in salmon tones atop the vibrant play of purple, blue and chartreuse green stripes and geometric patterns. Keen eyes will further appreciate the handsome, natural look of patina and abrash in the colors—an irreplaceable element of a true classic, though connoisseurs will seldom see Dhurrie with such modern, unusual colors for this provenance as well. It’s both a rare and collectible design as well as one of few Dhurrie runners in such an outstanding large size, especially well suited to hallways, entryways, full staircases, narrow spaces and countless other design applications today.
