Dimensions: 33"H × 15"W × 5"D
Handmade ceramic wall sculpture with an abstract geometric form reminiscent of a human torso. This low-fired work was fired at a lower kiln temperature, allowing minerals and smoke to create natural variations in tone and texture. The intentionally minimal glazing highlights the clay’s raw character, giving the piece an organic, weathered appearance.
Created by a California artist active in the 1980s–1990s, the work reflects the California Clay Movement and is in the manner of Stephen De Staebler and Peter Voulkos, where form, fire, and chance come together to evoke both body and landscape.
Unsigned.
Condition: The front is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The back shows minor chipping that does not affect display or stability. Retains original hanging wire.
