The Chin Hua Collection … Read more A pair of 1970's side tables or night stands designed by Raymond Sobota for Century Furniture. The Chin Hua Collection integrated elements of Hollywood Regency and Chinoiserie. Sobota began his career as a freelance designer for several furniture manufacturers after graduating from design school. In 1950, he began working exclusively with Century. He designed all the company’s wood collections until 1995. Among the highlights was the Chin Hua collections.
These large tables combine burl wood and black lacquer accents. Brass Asian-style hardware complete the design. The open interiors afford storage. A Century Furniture tag accompanies the tables. These tables are fabulous additions to a 1970's glamorous home or to achieve maximalist, Hollywood Regency, or Palm Beach styles. The tables are very well designed, and have minimal wear.
