Elegant and substantial, this vintage desk or library lamp combines solid brass construction with a thick ribbed frosted glass shade inspired by 1930s Art Deco design. The shade’s fluted half-cylinder form casts a soft, even glow that’s perfect for task lighting or ambient illumination.
The lamp features a sturdy stepped brass base, gracefully curved double arms, and a pull-chain switch below the shade. The glass is notably heavy and beautifully diffuses light when lit.
Although the design echoes the 1930s–40s banker’s and piano lamps, details such as the molded amber plug and “Made in Taiwan” socket label indicate it was produced in the 1980s, a period known for exceptionally well-made Deco revivals.
