Fantastic mid-century modern upholstered gondola sofa made in the style and manner of James Mont. The chic sofa features a gondola sled inspired wood frame with an ebonized black lacquer finish. The wood frame is low slung upholstered with a Chinoiserie motif dragon fabric inspired by Jack Larson. The sofa is in "as found" condition with faded fabric and older repairs to the frame. The sofa has a dramatic profile and design with original makers label. The long frame has three fitted loose seat cushions and gracefully curved arms measuring 21 inches high. From an estate in San Francisco, California.
