Brian Andrew (British b. 1962) raku studio art pottery sculpture of a Deerhound or Exmoor Lurcher dog.
The Exmoor Lurcher is a specific breed developed in the 1960s from a cross between a Deerhound, Bedlington Terrier, Greyhound, and Whippet. They are known for being gentle, affectionate and good family dogs bred for a combination of speed and companionable qualities. They possess the athleticism of their sighthound ancestors, and at the same time are docile and quiet companions.
Nice large size - measures 14 1/4" long x 8" tall x 4" wide. Good condiiton . Signed inside the rear leg.
Brian Andrew, British art potter and sculptor, was born in 1962 in South London. After moving to Cornwall in 1986, he began his artistic career focusing on animal sculptures and specializing in raku and slipware techniques.
