Created in 1954, this original engraving was created on the basis of the 1952 oil on canvas painting of the same name.
Miró expresses his imaginative vision through calligraphic strokes and bold blocks of color; the viewer can almost taste the ruby blood splashed across the bird's feathers. The geometric shapes evoke precious stones, and the sky becomes the pyramid to which the subject aspires.
