Chair no. 114 is depicted in the 1916 Thonet catalogue. The design probably dates from around 1885 and was likely inspired by Thonet's most famous model, No. 14 (from 1856). As indicated in the 1916 catalogue, different leg connections (Fussverbindungen) could be chosen. You don't come across this curved connection as often. Both chairs are in good condition and have hand-woven intact rattan seats. Some scattered old traces of woodworm . Marked: Thonet Austria.
