This is a vintage Caswell-Runyan cedar hope chest, dating from around the 1930s–1940s. Caswell-Runyan of Huntington, Indiana was one of the earliest American makers of cedar chests (founded in 1907) and was known for their quality craftsmanship and protective storage for linens and garments.
