"La Vénus aux fourrures" (Venus in Furs) is the 1954 French edition of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's famous novel, featuring color illustrations by Suzanne Ballivet. Published by Maurice Gonon, it is a limited edition of 750 copies on Velin Chiffon de Lana paper and includes a slipcase. The original novel, written by the Austrian writer Sacher-Masoch in 1870, gave its name to the term "masochism" and details a story of a man desiring to be enslaved by a woman he idealizes.
