A set of 4 1970's mid century signed chairs designed by David Rowland. The chairs are called the 40/4 chairs.
The set of 4 chairs have original maker's labels. Some on the back rest and under the seat.

The design features a solid steel sled base, and has a steam-bent oak seat and back.
These chairs were manufactured by GF Business Equipment (part of General Fireproofing Co) in the 1970s as evidenced from the labels.

Use as dining chairs or pull up to a desk. The chairs stack so remarkably well however they are best used around your dining table and are a classic mid century design.

Mix with so many design era styles (such as a wood trestle dining table, a classic traditional table or a mid century table.)

Minor surface wear. Some small fading to the original wood finish here and there. A few chairs have small veneer loss at a seat edge or back rest edge. All chairs have tight sturdy frames and are ready for use. See less
