Connoisseurs may note we believe this to be among the rare, celebrated works of mid-century icon Zeki Müren. This distressed piece enjoys Aubusson-inspired floral patterns, with borders and medallions in brick red on a beige background. The colors look all-the-more natural in the distressed texture, and exemplify the unique blend of diverse influences in Müren's work. Keen eyes will further admire a gold undertone to the beige-brown background, and the warmth it lends this transitional rug.
An inviting mid-century design in otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage, worthy of sophisticated projects yearning for country aesthetics. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970. See less
