This 9x10 vintage Dhurrie rug is an exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s latest acquisition of rare and exemplary mid-century flatweaves of the same style. Handwoven in cotton, it originates from India circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This vintage kilim features a black field underscoring a play of geometric patterns in red and white hues in the border and field alike exemplifying a simple, minimalist design that’s quintessential to many classics of this Dhurrie style. Keen eyes will further admire the subtle look of abrashed patina and striation within the field—an intricate and thoughtful revival of the classic look of Kilims and similar pieces brought to a more livable, modern quality.
