Vintage Neo-Expressionist Figurative Clay Sculpture
A mid-century expressionist work in fired clay, this reclining male figure channels the style of Alberto Giacometti and the gestural force of Frank Auerbach. The sculptor's hand is evident in the deeply textured surface, where thick, intentional marks create an interplay of shadow and form.
Notable Features:
- Composition: Figure captured in a reclining pose with one leg raised.
- Surface Treatment: Heavy impasto-like modeling reveals the artist's tactile working process
- Condition: In good vintage state with expected age-related wear; repaired fracture at one leg (stable)
Dimensions:
9.75" W × 8" H × 4.25" D
(24.8 × 20.3 × 10.8 cm)
Note: Due to the nature of vintage studio ceramics, surface variations and minor imperfections are inherent characteristics.
