Created circa 1920, each oil on board is set within its original carved giltwood and velvet-lined frame. The first composition captures a serene river scene with steep mountain cliffs and a small rowboat gliding across calm waters. The companion piece depicts a rustic countryside view with a windswept tree under a softly clouded sky. Both works are signed in the lower right corner by the artist, C. Jonnevold.
The pair is executed with lively brushwork and subtle atmospheric tones, reflecting the artist’s sensitivity to light and natural form.
