This highland scene from British painter Robert Cleminson (1864-1903) features a landscape scene with a horse and three dogs. The focal point of this 19th century oil on canvas is the horse, which carries a wicker basket on his flank. Three dogs are peacefully resting in front of the horse, with a lovely eye exchange between the horse and one of the dogs, drawing our eye through the scene. Slightly behind the dogs is a water trough, while in the background are depicted hills. This English 19th century painting is surrounded by a giltwood frame, adorned with floral motifs. See less
