A lovely 19th century French Empire style reproduction, from 1980s. The vibrant and deep tones of the wood are complemented by gentle ormolu detailing, elegant but light in appearance. Cap (cornice) features beautiful variations in the wood. Width provides ample space to display an object (statue, vase, plant …). This piece is relatively lightweight, thus easy to move around, but also sturdy on its well proportioned base. Some imperfections: scuffs, corners of cap are nicked and some cracking (perhaps intentional faux finish?) See details in photos - Otherwise in splendid condition. This item was purchased new from Meubles Francais Ltd in Brighton UK in 1987 by the original and only owner
