A prototype of one of several pieces in the WD + STL modular, mobile furniture system designed by Tom Shiner, FAIA. This hutch is built to hold glassware, flatware, and linens with a wine rack at its base. Heavy-duty casters make it mobile. A useful piece for restaurant dining rooms, it was also designed with loft and apartment living in mind. The hutch + wine rack combination is only one of several top- and bottom, mix-and-match pieces that can be built to order. The name WD + STL derives from the abbreviations for WOOD and STEEL that architects use on architectural drawings. This prototype is for sale now.
Shiner studied furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen and founded the company MUSEUM & LIBRARY FURNITURE.
