author pino stampini was born in santhià (vercelli) on january 24, 1905. After his studies in his hometown he moved to turin, where he attended the albertina academy of fine arts. There he refined his skills under the guidance of established masters, soon turning to painting, watercolor and especially engraving techniques, which became one of his distinctive features. In the 1930s and 1940s he began to make a name for himself through exhibitions and graphic works, distinguishing himself as an eclectic author who was also active in woodcuts. In the following decades he alternated between painting and graphic art, with a focus on landscape themes and historical memory. Some of his works entered public collections, including the calcografia nazionale. Settling in rome in his mature years, he continued to produce and exhibit until the last years of his life. He died in the capital on may 24, 1992, leaving a varied corpus that reflects his constant dedication to the art of the italian twentieth century
