This mahogany landing sofa, dating from the first half of the 19th century, is fully in keeping with the aesthetic of the Restoration, at the heart of the Romantic movement.
Its square seat and backrest, upholstered in a yellow fabric delicately decorated with small diamonds, offer a discreet and harmonious refinement.
The armrests, of studied sobriety, are distinguished by their curves that soften the rigor of the structure.
The finely turned front legs demonstrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of this period.
Both functional and decorative, this landing sofa illustrates the measured elegance and taste for balanced lines that marked Restoration furniture.
