Created in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, home to the largest production of alabaster and Catholic religious crafts in Europe, this sculpture depicts the figure of the Virgin Mary carrying the Infant Jesus in her arms, on her left side.

A true protective mother, her arms embrace and protect the baby Jesus. She is depicted in a style close to the Gothic Revival while retaining a human aspect, with her slightly bent posture, the Infant Jesus clinging to her neck, and her drapery. Here, the more "human" aspect is presented, with the figure of the mother protecting her child, which is emphasized to allow women and young mothers to identify more closely with the figure of the Virgin Mary.
