The name is an ironic and affectionate reference to the two British rulers of the nineteenth century, but also a tribute to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London which, in 2000, the year of production of this sofa, had dedicated a large personal retrospective to Arad. The shapes of Victoria & Albert are those of a sinuous ribbon that recalls the shape of the symbol of infinity, thus leaving a hollow space between the seat and back.
