Large antique ceramic serving plate/centerpiece made by an English manufacturer and decorated with the classic Transferware technique. The 'Rhine' pattern, greatly favored during the Victorian period, was used by many English manufacturers in the 1800s. It is still incredibly usable in a modern dining setting. Diameter: 35 cm/13.8'' (with the handles), 31 cm/12.2'' (without the handles); height: 4 cm. Marked on reverse.
Very good original condition. Light wear consistent with age and use. One larger chip at the back, not affecting the stability of the plate. This piece has an attribution mark,
