Marcel Breuer was a German-American architect of Austro-Hungarian descent. He taught at the Bauhaus in Dessau. Breuer is considered the inventor of modern tubular steel. Our two tables were produced by the Italian company Gavina. The manufacturer's mark is on the underside. Dino Gavina (1922-2007) was a leading figure in Italian furniture design and took over the production and distribution of classic Breuer designs such as the "B9" series, the "Cesca" model, and the "Wassily" armchair. In 1968, the Gavina company was acquired by Knoll International. The tables therefore date from the 1960s. They are in excellent condition. The chrome-plated tubular steel frames show barely any signs of wear. The resin-coated tabletops have minor scratches and scuffs, but these are only noticeable when the light hits them at an unfavorable angle. Visually, both tables appear almost new. Height: 44 cm.
