A handsome antique English cast iron cauldron by Clark & Co., marked “CLARK & Co. PATENT No. 12 — 10 QUARTS” with the company’s six-point star trademark. This rare enamel-lined example dates to the late 19th–early 20th century and features the distinctive double gate mark characteristic of earlier foundry production.
The interior retains much of its original cream enamel, now naturally worn and chipped from age and use, creating a beautiful contrast against the dark iron exterior. The wrought-iron bail handle remains secure and functional.
Solid and substantial, this piece embodies the craftsmanship of early enamel-coated cookware — far less common than bare cast iron examples — and makes a striking statement for display in a farmhouse kitchen, hearth setting, or industrial décor vignette.
