These are a pair of antique, Gorham #808, Puritan patterned, convertible candlesticks. Each candelabra comes with four connecting pieces, all of which are made of sterling silver—the fun is when you get to choose and assemble your own candelabra’s height and design! They can be converted to hold a single taper or to a three arm candelabra— but when you have two sets, you have even more possibilities! Please see the pictures, as I have tried to give you some ideas on the possibilities of how to arrange them. The tallest configuration of the pieces that I could achieve was 18 inches in height.
The Gorham Manufacturing Company was founded in 1831, in Providence, Rhode Island and was one of the most renowned American Silversmiths.
I have polished both candelabras—they are simply stunning—and they weigh 2.4 lbs each.
