Monumental 19th-century cast-iron architectural salvage wall bracket featuring a roaring lion mask with elaborate scroll-work arm and wide bowl mount — originally part of a grand theater or opera-house lighting installation. The lion’s face projects in bold relief, framed by acanthus and classical detailing. Heavy, solid-cast construction throughout (arm is solid, not hollow). Retains its original aged cream paint with deep, honest oxidation and patina.
This was reportedly salvaged from an old opera house in San Francisco, though no formal provenance accompanies them. The scale, casting quality, and theatrical ornament strongly support that tradition.
