It is an antique Victorian cast iron planter/window box with feet. It has just a tad of patina in areas, just enough to authenticate its age. It is in great condition -- quite heavy and strong. It measures 13" tall, 8" wide and 20 1/4" wide.

This would go great with antique Victorian patio chairs or set, or could also be used indoors as well.

The frame has 2 cast iron stand-offs which can hold a basket in place to hold flowers. It just so happens that this one includes an old sheet metal basket made to fit this planter. I am including the sheet metal basket and it is in great ready-to-use condition. I show the basket in the next to last photo. It came with the planter when I purchased it, and it is a perfect fit. I did just a bit of research and priced similar metal baskets and even ones made in China are over $100. When I purchased this one it had silk flowers stuck in floral styrofoam inside the sheet metal box, so it had been used inside. If you wanted to use it outside and grow real flowers in it you would probably want to drill a couple of holes in the sheet metal box so excess water could drain.

Again, this is obviously antique cast iron -- not lesser desirable cast aluminum or wrought iron. It is ready for even the most discerning antique buyer wanting to add more flair to a luxurious patio area or perhaps even an indoor seating area which needs at least a touch of antique cast iron.
