A museum-quality piece of Hollywood Regency history, this stunning pair of metal French doors was custom-made for the Harold S. Anderson estate at 737 Sarbonne Road in Bel Air. The mansion itself was designed by notable architect Sumner Spalding, with interiors and custom furnishings by the legendary Art Deco designer Donald Deskey. These doors were an original architectural element from this 1930s masterpiece, offering a unique opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood’s Golden Age design legacy.
Evoking the glamour and elegance of the era, these doors feature the clean lines and geometric motifs characteristic of the Art Deco and Modernist movements. The intricate scrollwork and heavy, handcrafted steel frame are a testament to the high level of custom ironwork from the period. As authentic vintage architectural salvage, the doors bear the beautiful, original patina from nearly a century of use. The heavy, robust construction is solid and all wear tells a story of its distinguished history.
This pair of doors is ideal for a historically accurate restoration project or to incorporate a unique, high-end architectural element into a contemporary home. They can be professionally refurbished and installed in a new doorway, or displayed as a standalone decorative piece of art. The dimensions are approximately 90 inches high by 60 inches wide by 1.8 inches deep, with detailed dimensions available upon request. As with all vintage items, these doors are sold as-is.

This pair of French doors shows no major damage, breaks, or past repairs. The structural integrity is excellent, and the doors are sound and solid. As with all genuine architectural salvage of this age, they do show signs of natural wear. The original finish has developed a rich patina over the decades, which adds to its authentic charm. Some of the original caulking around the interior window panes is separating and falling away and should be replaced during a restoration. A full restoration would be beneficial to bring them back to their former glory, and they are perfect for someone looking for a restoration project with historical significance. We have a total of nine sets with two sets with the glass intact. less
