The lens of the camera coupled with a flat screen scarcely does justice to the beauty of this work.

Notice the very heavy application of oil paint--the myriad of individual hues and brush strokes which make up the animals-their bodies and their surrounding environs. Notice, too, how the hundreds and hundreds of multicolored brush strokes, come together to create a believable reality.

The "gesture" of the kudos indicates great fear of those unseen aggressors, poised just beyond the picture's frame--but rooted deeply within the artist's imagination. Lions! (No, the artist was not on safari; the entire scene was conjured up in his mind, fueled by his love of the wild.)

This painting was executed on a canvas sized 48" x24," measuring 52" x 30" with frame.
