A charming gilt-framed and linen-lined oil portrait of a young girl, featuring golds and pinks. The hint of a pink bow in her hair picks up the pink of the dress. Nicely delineated features, with a slight fringe of hair escaping to her forehead from the bow.
Painters of the Boston School (first three decades of the 1900s) were often described as American Impressionists, but with a regional style of a more conservative approach to figure painting, and a respect for the Western traditions of art history.
