This original 17th-century oil painting depicts a lively tavern interior with three male figures absorbed in a game of dice. Seated at a rustic wooden table, the players are captured mid-action, their gestures and expressions full of tension and concentration. The dimly lit setting, with its earthy tones and strong chiaroscuro, reflects the mood and stylistic influence of Dutch genre painting of the period. Glimpses of tankards, jugs, and a leaded window enrich the composition with atmospheric detail.
Executed in oil on a solid wood panel (approx. 5 mm thick), the painting is unsigned. It is housed in a later frame that is not original to the piece.
