Janet Kuemmerlein is a pioneer in fiber art. She has installations at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum of Art and Design, and the Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University, among others.
This piece is approximately eight feet by five feet free form.
It has been described as both a peace dove or a wave. It is crafted of wool fiber in a free-form organic shape with a palette of vibrant golds, reds and oranges.
This fiber art was commissioned by my parents in the 1980's and has been stored for 40 years in a private collection.
