This piece is inspired by Brutalist architecture and minimalist sculpture traditions. I was drawn to the raw honesty of concrete, the way it embodies permanence, weight, and silence. The sharply receding form hints at both architectural voids and primal vessels, referencing artists such as Donald Judd and Tadao Ando, who explored geometry, material, and negative space with great clarity.
I hope viewers experience both a sense of grounding and unease—the tension between solidity and emptiness. The narrowing geometry draws the eye inward, suggesting both a passage and an obstruction. Some may see it as a meditation on absence, while others might interpret it as a reminder of structure, endurance, and the spaces we build around ourselves.
