The hemispherical shade is crafted using the centuries-old murrine technique, in which patterned glass canes are sliced and fused to form a vibrant mosaic effect. A hot-applied cobalt rim frames the shade, which rests on a cobalt-blue glass stem and polished black glass base.

The model comes from Aulenti’s celebrated Neverrino series, originally introduced in 1970 and produced by Vistosi in multiple variations through the late 20th century. This example, with its sculptural glass stem and base, reflects a later execution of the design.
